Founded in 2016 by Creative Director Jane Frances and her husband Scott O’Connor, Dear Frances unites directional design and traditional Italian shoemaking techniques.

Jane was born in Sydney and after living in multiple European cities she settled in London, which she now calls home. She studied Footwear Design in Milan and later honed her technical skills at an artisan shoe factory located in Vigevano, to the west of the fashion capital. Jane is a mother, a health enthusiast and foodie, as well as a collector of design furniture.

Each Dear Frances silhouette embodies a minimalist refinement, marked by understated integrity and considered production.

Made in Italy and designed in London, pieces are created to endure, both physically and aesthetically. The ethos and vision echoes the delicate strength of a woman.
